*GENERAL SUMMARY*
The Gymnastics Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of the Gymnastics department.
In addition, every position in the YMCA of Coastal Georgia, Inc.
is responsible for upholding the Judeo-Christian principles that are central to our mission by modeling behaviors that exemplify the four pillars of character - caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
*ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES*
* Oversight of all coaching staff and volunteers for the gymnastics program.
* Develop and implement gymnastics programs for the department.
* Responsible for the daily operation and safety of the department.
* Training of all staff to work with program participants.
* Develop and implement marketing plans to promote the gymnastics program.
* Travel to national conferences and seminars and represent the YMCA in these events.
* Assist in the overall retention and satisfaction of YMCA members through appropriate customer service.
* Assist in the Annual Campaign fundraising program for the YMCA.
* Maintain a positive and cheerful attitude with staff, peers and program participants.
*SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES*
The Gymnastics Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation and performance of the Gymnastic program including Recreational and Competitive programs.
The Gymnastics Coordinator is also responsible for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
* High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and gymnastics certification.
* Sound working knowledge of accepted fitness standards and practices including gymnastic techniques.
* Ability to develop and implement gymnastic programs.
* Ability to foster positive staff, peers and program participants.
* Ability to supervise multiple staff and volunteers.
* Must be able to pass a criminal background check and obtain authorization to work with children under the Georgia Department of Labor and YMCA guidelines.
