QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED certificate.
Demonstrated aptitude for work to be performed.
Have at least two years of college (60 semester hours or 100 quarter hours or
Earned an associate degree or
Passed the State approved paraprofessional exam.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Prompt and regular attendance.
Assists teachers with the clerical duties, grading papers, preparing materials, typing and/or reproducing documents.
Prepares bulletin boards.
Works with individual pupils and/or small groups to reinforce skills taught by teacher.
Supervises groups or individuals at times when the principal deems it necessary for the teacher to be in a professional meeting or at other times designated by the principal.
Accompanies groups on field trips under the supervision of the teacher when such trips are authorized for educational purposes.
Assists teachers and the school program by helping with other tasks as assigned by the principal.
Sets up and runs multi-media equipment (i.
e.
: filmstrips, film projectors, video recorders or other audio-visual equipment.
Secures books or other instructional materials from the school library under the direction of the teacher.
Assists in supervising pupils before, during, and after school.
Assists in supervising in the cafeteria or in taking up lunch tickets or records as assigned by principal.
Performs such other assignments and duties as assigned by the supervisor and Superintendent of Schools.
