Job Summary This position is responsible for the investigation and adjudication of alleged violations of the Savannah State University Code of Student Conduct.
The incumbent develops sanctions which promote personal and educational development and maintains University standards.
The Coordinator serves as a resource person to students, administrators, faculty and staff regarding general and special conduct issues and assists in ensuring University-wide compliance to the policies and procedures outlined in the Code of Student Conduct.
This position requires some evening and weekend work.
The incumbent may be directed to perform job related tasks other than those delineated in this description.
Responsibilities Review and resolve caseload of student academic and social misconduct violations Conduct administrative hearings and make decisions regarding conduct cases Maintain records and files of disciplinary cases in keeping with applicable University policies and state/federal laws Input, maintain, and update information regarding cases in respective databases Train and advise hearing officers and boards to review cases of alleged misconduct to include training of faculty, staff and students for the judicial board Educate campus community regarding Code of Student Conduct and university expectations for student behavior to include conducting programming and presentations on student ethics issues Serve on university-wide committees and tasks forces Intake, evaluate, investigate, adjudicate and set sanctions for student misconduct cases in accordance with University policies and processes Serve as primary case manager for referrals involving student organizations Collaborate with various campus offices in addressing alleged misconduct (e.
g.
University Counsel and Campus Police) Develop, implement and monitor developmentally appropriate educational sanctions Maintain all judicial files and records of disciplinary sanctions Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree Two (2) to three (3) years of experience in higher education in one of the following areas: student affairs, student programming, student activities, student leadership or advising student organizations Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in relevant field (e.
g.
student personnel, higher education, public administration) or a related field Three (3) or more years of experience in higher education in one of the following areas: student affairs, student programming, student activities, student leadership or advising student organizations Proposed Salary The pay range for this position is $45,000 - $51,000 annually.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Knowledge of Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) laws, medical privacy guidelines and other applicable laws and policies Knowledge of case management systems (e.
