The Legal Assistant serves as administrative support for the Attorney and Case Management team.
The Legal Assistant duties are predominately administrative.
The Legal Assistant proactively communicates with medical providers to retrieve clients’ medical records and bills as swiftly as possible.
In collaboration with the Attorney, the Legal Assistant schedules and completes clients’ disbursements, client meetings, and follow-up on appropriate releases.
The Legal Assistant will also follow up on demand packages and offers from the insurance adjusters.
Requirements: Attorney Assistance Collaborates with Attorney and Accounting to schedule and complete client disbursements.
Follow-up with insurance adjusters to confirm the demand packages were received and obtain initial offers for the Attorney to review with the client.
Schedule client meetings and keep the calendar for the Attorney.
Follow-up with insurance adjusters for client releases.
Acts as general administrative support to Attorney as needed.
Case Management Assistance Collaborates with Case Managers to assist in gathering all bills and medical records regarding a client’s case.
Interacts with medical providers to determine status of medical records and bills request.
Generates and sends required correspondence, such as requests for medical records and bills, and follows up on requests as needed.
Contacts insurance companies for declaration pages, verify policy limits, and demand receipt.
Acts as general administrative support to case management team as needed.
Sets up the initial insurance claim for the client and sends letters of representation.
Performs general receptionist duties for the office to include greeting clients, answering basic questions and answers phone, emails, fax, etc.
as needed.
Requirements High School diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred.
One year or more relevant experience in a customer-centric role required; professional experience in a legal environment preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite of tools required, knowledge of case Management software FileVine, desired.
Familiarity with basic medical records and terminology is highly desired.
