We need an experienced Paralegal for the U.
S.
Attorney's Office, Southern District of Georgia.
In this role, you will support FLU Assistant United States Attorneys (AUSAs).
The mission and priority of the Financial Litigation Unit (FLU) is to enforce criminal judgments entered by the United States District Court and to enforce civil debts referred to the Department of Justice from federal agencies for litigation.
An increasing number and complexity of FLU cases and investigations being handled by the Department of Justice.
FLU cases are document intensive, requiring the collection, organization, and analysis of large amounts of information.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and maintain files and case-tracking database
Sign debt collection correspondence
Reconciling indirect payments
Draft boilerplate motions for the AUSA to review and file
Establish and maintain physical files
Prepare declarations
Gather information and organize investigative packages, case files, or presentations
Record and service incoming calls from defense counsel, victims, and Defendants
Conduct and reconcile inventories (e.
g.
, financial data and administrative files)
Review weekly payment reports
Correct failed payments immediately and reconcile inconsistencies
Distribute and receive daily mail and documents
Maintain the Special Assessment Only and Low Dollar Debt cases
Create and update mandatory word processing forms
Assist FLU AUSAs and Paralegal Specialists
Obtain/collect all documents to complete files
Create, maintain, and update Defendant information in FLU and criminal Defendant-oriented databases
Provide administrative information concerning cases or files to other inter/intra agencies and organizations
Perform data entry
Draft and develop detailed documents and correspondence
Review and summarize large quantities of information
Using spreadsheets and schedules to gather data, analyze, and present findings
EDUCATION
High school diploma or GED is required
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a professional office environment
